Ferrysburg Community Church

Nate Visker, Pastor

Nate Visker is the the senior pastor of FCC.  Nate grew up not far away in Kalamazoo, MI.  He attended Calvin College and Calvin Theological Seminary.  Nate spent three years doing ministry in Durham, NC before coming to FCC in December of 2004.  The best part of being a pastor?  "It's so cool to have a front row seat to what God does in people's lives."

Nate and his wife Sara have three young children.  Together they enjoy laughing, camping, and going to the beach.  Nate also enjoys playing guitar, frisbee golf, and doing projects around the house.

Lori Houskamp, Education Coordinator

Lori Houskamp works with volunteers to coordinate faith nurture ministries for all ages.  Lori grew up in the Tri-Cities and has been an active member at Ferrysburg Community Church for over 12 years.  Lori taught third grade for six years in Grand Rapids before returning to Spring Lake and then substitute taught all ages from preschool-high school while staying home with her daughters.

Lori and her husband Mike enjoy water activities and laughing at AFV with their daughters.  Lori also enjoys playing the flute, playing softball, running, and scrap booking.

 Pam Landheer, Worship Coordinator

I fell in love with this church when I first visited over 20 years ago, and I am still here!  I've been the Worship Coordinator at FCC for over 10 years, and I love being involved on a daily basis with the planning and developing of our worship program.  I have been a member here since 1986, and along with my husband and four children, have made this church our home.

Along with this job, I am also an RN, practicing at an OB/GYN office here in town.  Since graduating from Calvin College, I have used my nursing degree on a part-time basis, coordinating it with my schedule as Worship Coordinator. I love the lakeshore, going to the beach with friends and family, relaxing on Fremont Lake, taking long walks with my husband, reading, playing
the piano, and keeping track of our four children (18, 15, 13, and 10).

 Paula DeJonge, Youth Director
My name is Paula and I am the youth director here at the church. I love my job and I love the kids here at Ferrysburg Community Church. I love being a part of their lives, their struggles, their joys and their accomplishments. I always wondered what I would be when I grew up. Now I know that I don’t have to grow old in heart and spirit because these kids will always keep me young and in touch with life today. I love being able to work through life with the kids, because God has given me many life experiences which I now see were to prepare me for this job.

I live in Spring Lake with my husband Blake and two kids, Michaela and Ezekiel. I love to do many things: read, cook, eat, exercise, take photos, scrapbook, decorate, draw, shop… there is not much I don’t like to do.

Our high school program is called Jubilee and they meet on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month. The middle school program, Boundaries, meets on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays. If you have any questions about either of these programs, please call me at 616.842.3880 ext. 14.
