CHANCEL CHOIR

 

The chancel choir of Ferrysburg Community Church has held a reputation for many years of being one of the finest choirs in the

Tri-Cities area.  In a day when many church choirs are fading out of existence, the Ferrysburg group continues to be a strong presence in worship services.  The season runs from October until April, and the choir sings a minimum of twice per month.  Director Doug Tjapkes chooses an eclectic music lineup that ranges from the classics to contemporary Christian music.  A strong camaraderie and mutual support exist among the choir.  Pastor Nate Visker labels the organization "one of the church's small groups."  It's a collection of diverse and dedicated people who love to sing and love the Lord.  Rehearsals are tight, well-regulated, and run for one hour each Thursday evening beginning at 7:30 p.m.
